In the 2018 golf season, the Slippery Rock team came very close to qualifying for districts. Three of our golf team members, Senior Chad Green, Junior Walker Allison, and Sophomore Logan Wolak were one point away from making it to districts.

The Rockets varsity team was coached by Mr. Whitmer and Mr. Anderson. Mr. Whitmer has been varsity the coach of the golf team for a long time. Coming this close to districts and not making it only drives the team’s motivation for the upcoming seasons.

When as how did you feel when you were one point away from districts, Wolak stated “It was a tough defeat only not making it by one point but there is always next year”. Even with this heartbreaking defeat, the team is still strong at the core and ready for the next chance. The team can always improve upon their performance this year in hopes of qualifying for districts next year.
