This years Slippery Rock High School football team currently has a record of 4 wins and 6 losses.This year, the football team is coached by Larry Wendereusz Jr., Rick Bell, and Mr.Christy. The captains are seniors Cole Bell, Wayne Bird, Seth Slater, and Rod Williams.

The Slippery Rock football team just won their first round of the playoffs when they played Harborcreek High School on Saturday, October 28th, with a final score of 38-14. The team is going to play Sharon High School on Saturday, November 4th at 7:00 pm. at Wilmington High School.

Senior Cole Bell said, “The team works hard everyday after school. They practice both offensively and defensively.”

The football team has Varsity games on Friday night while Junior Varsity plays on Saturday mornings. The varsity games begin at 7:00 pm and are played through the night. Throughout the games, the boys play their hardest, according to senior captain Cole Bell. He also added that before the Friday night lights, the boys pray for a good game and have a relaxing time with their teammates.

Junior Sean Northcott explained that the team practices hard each week to continually improve their performance. He said, ¨We practice against the other teams’ plays. Also, we practice plays that we will run that week against the team.”
